1. Lower your gaze: This doesn’t mean only lower
your gaze from pornography, but rather lower your
gaze from any and every person you find
attractive. This means avoiding movies, television
programs or even Facebook pages where you will
come across such images, even if they’re only
subtle. Remember the Shaitan will come in tiny
discrete steps. Also note that it’s a lot easier to let
go at the beginning than it is once you’ve fallen
into something worse.
2. Fast Frequently: This is the advice of Prophet
Muhammad (pbuh) who taught us that fasting will
reduce your desire. If your desire is very strong,
then you should fast at least twice a week. Also
avoid eating heavily, as food (especially meat) will
always increase your appetite for desire.
3. Avoid being alone: The less you are alone, the
less chances you will have to fall into sin. If you
could also join a religious study circle and
constantly surround yourself with people who
remind you of Allah. Even if you are not doing
anything religious, just avoid being alone.
4. Attend the Masjid: We strongly recommend you
to visit the mosque every single day for at least for
one prayer. The Masjid is a refuge from sin and if
you are constantly in this environment, God willing,
you will change.
5. Prayer & Duaa: At the end of the day, Allah is
your main source of support. Try your best to pray
on time as this will help keep your iman in check
whenever you fall out. Always ask Allah to support
you and God willing you will get through this.
May Allah make it easy on all of us and protect
our young brothers and sisters.

GARDING THE TONGUE
Allaah Says in the Quran what means: "And why, when you heard it, did you not say: 'It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, [O Allaah]; this is a great slander?'" [Quran 24:16]
Backbiting & Slander Defined
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) once asked: "Do you know what backbiting is?" His companions may Allaah be pleased with them replied: "Allaah and His Messenger know best." He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) then said: "It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike." Someone asked: "But what if what is said is true?" The Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) replied: "If what you say about him is true, then you have backbitten him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him." [Muslim]
Islam is a religion of peace, love and compassion. Lies, suspicion, backbiting, slander and gossip are totally alien to Islam. In fact, they are considered amongst the most destructive of major sins. This is so because these sins sow enmity and discord among the Muslim Ummah (nation) and lead to its destruction. They cause hostilities between people of the same household, and between neighbours, friends and relatives.
Islam demands that our relationship with mankind be one of sincerity and responsibility. It should be one where we have respect for the honour, reputation and privacy of others. Islam teaches us that we are not only held accountable for our attitudes and actions, but also for anything over which we have control or influence in our society or the world around us.
Allaah has Forbidden the Believers from Backbiting
Allaah states in the Quran (what means): "O you who have believed! Avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allaah; indeed, Allaah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful." [Quran 49:12]
If we were to reflect deeply over this example, it would be enough to keep us away from backbiting!
Backbiting and Slander are Great Sins and Cannot be Treated with Indifference
The Quran Says (what means): "When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allaah, tremendous." [Quran 24:15]
Many of us backbite and gossip without thinking. We think it is a minor matter, however, Allaah reminds us to be careful, for even though we think we are doing something small, it is in fact very large in the sight of Allaah!
Allaah Teaches Us to Speak Out Against Slander and Try to Put a Stop to It
Allaah Says (what means): "And why, when you heard it, did you not say: 'It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, [O Allaah]; this is a great slander?'" [Quran 24:16]
Many people are so busy spreading the slander they hear that they do not even stop to consider whether it is true or not.
Satan Wishes that We Use Our Tongues to Create Conflict and Hatred
Allaah Says (what means): "And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [dissension] among them. Indeed, Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy." [Quran 17:53]
Are we falling into Satan's trap? We can all analyse ourselves to see if this is the case. Let's now compare that to what Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said about backbiting:
Allaah states in the Quran (what means): "There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allaah an excellent pattern…" [Quran 33:21]
We Should Guard Our Tongue from Sins and Use Our Limbs in Acts of Obedience
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "He who protects his tongue from unlawful utterances and his private parts from illegal sexual intercourse, I shall guarantee him entrance into Paradise." [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]
The Best Muslim Defined
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) was once asked: "Who is the best Muslim?" He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) replied: "He is the one from whom Muslims are safe from the evil of his tongue and hands." [Muslim]
Deriding people in their presence by making negative facial expressions or by hand gestures while they are unaware is also a form of backbiting.
We Need to Beware of the Slipping of Our Tongues
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "When man wakes up in the morning each day, all his body parts warn his tongue saying: ‘Fear Allaah with regards to us, for we are under your mercy; if you are upright, we will be upright and if you are crooked, we will be crooked.’" [At-Tirmithi]
Summary
Backbiting and slander are so widespread that they have become the topic of people’s meetings and an avenue for expressing their anger, misgivings and jealousy. Those who indulge in backbiting are oblivious of the fact that they are only harming themselves. This is because on the Day of Resurrection, both the wrongdoer and the wronged will stand before Allaah, the Just Judge. Allaah will then give the wronged person from the good deeds of the person who wronged him by backbiting or other injustices.
Some situations allow us to inform others of what someone has done. We are permitted to inform the authorities when someone does injustice to us or others. We are permitted to inform someone who can prevent a perpetrator from committing further vice. It is also permissible for us to tell whoever seeks our advice about a person for business dealings or marriage. In this case we are allowed reveal only as much as necessary about the person so that the enquirer will not feel deceived. All these forms of speaking about others are lawful.
Islam teaches us that if people are being ridiculed or backbitten in our presence, we should defend their honour. If we neglect doing so, we risk depriving ourselves of the ever-needed help and mercy from Allaah.
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "If a man's Muslim brother is slandered in his presence, and he is capable of defending him and does so, Allaah will defend him in this world and in the next. But if he fails to defend him, Allaah will destroy him in this world and the next." [Al-Baghawi]
What will we do the next time we are tempted to backbite, or if we hear slander in our presence? The choice is ours.

Today the soil in under your feet. Tomorrow it may be over you. Pray before you are prayed upon.
Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle
saying, "If there was a river at the door of anyone
of you and he took a bath in it five times a day
would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not
a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet added,
"That is the example of the five prayers with which
Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds." (Sahih Al

Backbiting is one of the major sins in Islam-A Reminder(myself First)
Today we’re going to ask you to do something difficult. Very difficult. Some might say impossible….
In fact we’re fairly sure 90% of people reading this won’t be able to do this. Hopefully we’re wrong. And Allah knows best.
Backbiting is a MAJOR sin and every single person reading this message has probably at some point in their life back bitten someone, so firstly let’s quickly address the definition of backbiting from the greatest source we have.
Abu Dharr once asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, what is gheebah? He replied: It is to mention about your brother that which he detests. Abu Dharr said: O Messenger of Allah, what if that which is mentioned of him should actually be in him? He replied: Know that when you mention that which is in him, you have committed his gheebah, and when you mention that which is not in him, then you have slandered him.
Even listening to backbiting is a sin
Prophet Muhammad (s) once said to Imam Ali: O Ali! When someone hears the backbiting of his Muslim brother committed in his presence, yet he does not rally to his assistance despite being capable of doing so, God shall humiliate him in the world and in the Hereafter
So now we’ve addressed the definition let us add a few more important points.
Did you know backbiting is more of a sin than adultery. You know why? When you commit adultery you can ask Allah for forgiveness and Allah can forgive you but when you backbite someone Allah cannot forgive you unless the person you spoke ill of forgives you first.
The Prophet once gave counsel to Abu Dharr, saying: O Abu Dharr! Beware of backbiting, for backbiting is graver than adultery. Abu Dharr (r) said: Why is that so, O Messenger of Allah? He (s) replied: That is because when a man commits adultery and then repents to God, God accepts his repentance. However, backbiting is not forgiven until forgiven by its victim.
So what shall we do? The choice is actually simple but very difficult. It’s a real battle of confronting our ego and pride and showing humility.
We need to start asking people for forgiveness. We need to approach people with humility, whether it’s a phone call, a text message, an email but ideally should be a direct communication between you and the person you want to approach. Yes it’s difficult but not impossible. Ask for their forgiveness and when they forgive you, you’ll feel lighter, more relieved. If you think this is beyond you, you’re wrong. You can do it.
Imagine the alternative? You’re now standing in front of Allah and your account is about to begin. You look to your right and you feel happy looking at all your good deeds. Suddenly your good deeds start vanishing and you’re panicking. The good deeds are going to all the people you have backbitten against, your father, brother, sister, mother, wife, friend, cousin, work colleague.
So start now, have a plan. Speak to 1 person a week and ask for their forgiveness. Maybe they will also ask for your forgiveness. You may look small in their eyes but you’ll look BIG in Allah’s
You can do it.

The First Crime on Earth.
Allah the Almighty says:
“And tell them accurately the story of the two sons
of Adam. When the two offered their sacrifices, the
offering of the one was accepted but that of the
other was not accepted.
The latter said, "I will kill you. "
The other answered, "Allah accepts the offerings of
the pious people only.
*1 Even if you stretch your hand to kill me, I shall
not lift my hand to kill you,” *2 for I fear Allah, the
Lord of the Universe; I would rather prefer that you
should bear the burden of my sin as well as of
your own sin, *3 and become a dweller of hell; this
is the just retribution of the iniquity of the
aggressors." Even after this his evil soul prompted
him to slay his brother without the slightest
compunction; so he killed him and became one of
the losers. Then Allah sent a raven which began to
scratch the ground to show him how he might hide
the corpse of his brother. Seeing this, he cried,
"Woe be to me! I have not been able to do even as
this raven has done and so devise a plan of hiding
the corpse of my brother." *4 After this he became
very remorseful (regretful) of what he had done.
(Glorious Quran, Al-Maeda, 5:27-31)
==============================
*1 That is, "It is no fault of mine if your sacrifice
has not been accepted; it is because you lack
piety. You should, therefore, try to foster piety in
yourself instead of making an attempt at slaying
me."
*2 It does not mean: "If you attempt to kill me, 1
will sit with folded hands before you, ready to be
killed without any resistance." What it means is:
"You may cherish evil intentions of murdering me,
but I will not you may make schemes for my
murder but I will do nothing to forestall you, even
after knowing that you are making preparation for
my murder." In this connection, it should be
understood clearly that it is not virtue to offer
oneself for murder, nor is it a virtue to refrain from
resisting an aggressive attack. True virtue is that
one should not plan the murder of an enemy
though he might be in search of an opportunity to
kill the one. A virtuous man would rather prefer,
like the noble son of Adam, that the enemy might
be the aggressor and not he.
*3 That is, "I would rather prefer that you alone
should be guilty of the sin of cherishing evil
intentions of slaying me than that I should also be
guilty of the same. Thus you shall bear the burden
of your own sin of aggression as well as of the
injury that I might inflict on you in self-defense."
*3 Thus Allah warned the erring son of Adam of his
ignorance and folly through a raven. And when
once he became aware of the fact that the raven
was better equipped for hiding the dead body, he
was not only filled with remorse on this account
but also began to feel that he had done an evil
deed by slaying his brother. This is implied in:
"After this he became very remorseful of what he
had done "

I went to Allah's Apostle along with a a son of
mine whose palate and tonsils I had pressed with
my finger as a treatment for a (throat and tonsil)
disease. The Prophet said, "Why do you pain your

1127)
Narrated Sad (May Allah be pleased with him) I
heard Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) saying,
"Whoever takes seven 'Ajwa dates in the morning
will not be effected by magic or poison on that
day." (Bukhari, Vol7, Bk 71, #671)
• TALBEENAH
Talbeenah is a broth that is made from two
spoonfuls of barley flour with bran, then a cup of
water is added to that and it is cooked over a low
fire for five minutes.
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased
with her) that she would order that talbeenah be
made for the sick and the one who was mourning a
death, and she used to say: I heard the Messenger
of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon
him) say: “Talbeenah soothes the heart of the sick
and takes away some of the grief.”
(Bukhari #5365; Muslim #2216)
• HENNA/ MEHNDI
Hazrat Umme Salma (May Allah be pleased with
her) narrates: “In the life of Prophet Muhammed
(peace be upon him), no injury or thorn piercing
was treated on which Henna was not
applied.” (Tirmidi, Ahmad)

Henna.” (Bukhari, Abu Dawood)

“The truffle is among the Mann (Allah’s favours)
and its water cures the eye” (Bukhari). It was said
that among the Manna sent down by Allah to the
Children of Israel were several plants that grow in
the wild without effort. Some scholars consider
truffles to be a kind of Manna, although the word
Manna in the Quran refers to the sweet dew that
descended from the trees.
• HONEY
Honey is deeply respected in Islamic medicine as a
powerful cure. Aside from tasting wonderful, honey
is nourishing, rich in vitamins, minerals, and amino
acids, eases allergies and can be used topically to
disinfect wounds and cure skin problems. The
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself
took honey medicinally, saying “Make use of the
two cures: honey and the Qur’an” (Ibn Majah). In
another hadith narrated by Abu Said Al-Khudri
(May Allah be pleased with him) A man came to
the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and
said, “My brother has some abdominal trouble.”
The Prophet said to him “Let him drink honey.”
The man came for the second time and the
Prophet said to him, “Let him drink honey.” He
came for the third time and the Prophet said, “Let
him drink honey.” He returned again and said, “I
have done that ‘ The Prophet then said, “Allah has
said the truth, but your brother’s abdomen has
told a lie. Let him drink honey.” So he made him
drink honey and he was cured.” [Bukhari]

eyelashes". (Ibn Majah)
• RUQYAH (DAMM)
Ruqyah means reciting Qur’an and saying
supplications reported from the Prophet (peace be
upon him) over the sick seeking to be cured; in
addition to other good and lawful supplications.
This is one of the great Ruqyahs. The Prophet
(peace be upon him) said to the man who
complained to him of pain in his body: Put your
hand on the area of pain in your body and say,
‘Bismillah [In the Name of Allah]” three times, then
say seven times, ‘`Audhu bi `izzat-illaah wa
qudratihi min sharri ma ajid wa uhaadhir [I seek
refuge in the Glory and Power of Allah from the evil
of what I feel and worry about].’ This is a means
for healing. Also, one may ask Allah for healing
using good words, such as, “O Allah, cure me of
this disease, cure me of any sickness.”

Qur'an and their health benefits have been
propounded in Prophetic medicine.

your bodies since it is a holy (mubarak)
tree.” (Tirmidhi, Ibn Maja)
Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet (peace be
upon him) stated: “Consume the olive oil and apply
it (locally), since there is cure for 70 diseases in it,
one of them is leprosy.” (Abu Naim)

hidden cures. May peace and salutations be upon
His final prophet Muhammad... Aameen!
