Advisory: I'm not trying to point out here someone.
If any of you are in this relationship, then I don't
want to know, it's just between you and Allah. The
reason why I've posted this is because I want to
see you entering Jannah, may Allah give us
understanding ameen.
All praise be to Allah.
Taking a girlfriend does not only destroy the
family, it destroys society, and those who do this
are threatened with the punishment and wrath of
Allaah. Love is a sickness that destroys the heart
and leads to evil and immorality. The Shaytaan will
keep tempting them and pushing them until they
commit immoral actions and thus each gets what
he or she wants from the other.
There are many forbidden matters associated with
this, such as transgressing against the honour of
others, betraying trust, being alone with a member
of the opposite sex, touching, kissing, speaking
immoral words, then the greater evil which occurs
at the end, which is the sin of zina.
Allah the most glorified has forbidden such an
indecent relationship in the Qur'an (interpretation
of the meaning, )
"…not committing fornication, nor taking them as
lovers (i.e. girlfriends)…" (Al-Maa'ida, 5:5)
The fact that the questioner says “no one knows
about us” is strange. How can he forget about his
Lord Who knows what is secret and what is yet
more hidden, and who knows the fraud of the eyes
and all that the hearts conceal. (cf. Ghaafir 40:19).
Allah the most glorified says in the Quran
(interpretation of the meaning):
"Do not even go near fornication..." (Al-Isra 17:32)
You see how Allah has constructed this sentence,
he didn't say "do not perform fornication" but
rather he said "do not go 'near' fornication" which
is clear that boyfriends and girlfriends are one of
the reasons of going near fornication.
You should note that correspondence and contact
between the sexes is one of the doors that lead to
fitnah (temptation). Sharee’ah is filled with
evidence which indicates that it is essential to
beware of falling into the traps of the shaytaan in
this matter. When the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw a young man
merely looking at a young woman, he turned his
head so as to make him look away, then he said:
“I saw a young man and a young woman, and I did
not trust the shaytaan not to tempt them.”
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (885) and classed as
hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
This does not mean that it is haraam for a man or
woman to like a specific person whom he or she
chooses to be a spouse, and feel love for that
person and want to marry them if possible. Love
has to do with the heart, and it may appear in a
person’s heart for reasons known or unknown. But
if it is because of mixing or looking or haraam
conversations, then it is also haraam. If it is
because of previous acquaintance, being related or
because of hearing about that person, and one
cannot ward it off, then there is nothing wrong
with that love, so long as one adheres to the
sacred limits set by Allaah.
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him)
said:
If love develops for a reason that is not haraam, a
person cannot be blamed for that, such as one
who loves his wife or his slave woman, then he
leaves her but that love remains and does not
leave him. He is not to be blamed for that. The
same applies if he glances accidentally then looks
away, but love may settle in his heart without him
wanting it to. But he has to ward it off and look
away. End quote.
Rawdat al-Muhibbeen (p. 147).
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy
on him) said:
A person may hear that a woman is of good
character and virtuous and knowledgeable, so he
may want to marry her. Or a woman may hear that
a man is of good character and virtuous and
knowledgeable and religiously committed, so she
may want to marry him. But contact between the
two who admire one another in ways that are not
Islamically acceptable is the problem, which leads
to disastrous consequences. In this case it is not
permissible for the man to get in touch with the
woman or for the woman to get in touch with the
man, and say that he wants to marry her. Rather
he should tell her wali (guardian) that he wants to
marry her, or she should tell her wali that she
wants to marry him, as ‘Umar (may Allaah be
pleased with him) did when he offered his daughter
Hafsah in marriage to Abu Bakr and ‘Uthmaan
(may Allaah be pleased with them both). But if the
woman contacts the man directly, this is what
leads to fitnah (temptation). End quote.
Liqaa’aat al-Baab il-Maftooh (26/question no. 13)
Sisters, I ask you a question, open your mind and
think, if he really loves you, do you think he wants
you to suffer the wrath of Allah? If he really loves
you then he must go to your wali, not to you.
Remember that you are angering your Lord with
such sins as being alone with him, meeting him
and talking to him, and anything more than that is
even more serious.
You should realize that zina does not only involve
the private parts, rather the eyes may commit zina,
the ears may commit zina, the hand may commit
zina and the foot may commit zina, as was proven
from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him). All of that leads to the zina of the
private parts. So do not let the Shaytaan deceive
you, for he is an enemy to you who wishes you evil
and tells you to commit immoral actions.
So, it is obligatory upon you to repent to Allah and
to regret what has passed and to have the firm will
not to return to the same action again, and to do
good deeds and perform acts of worship to expiate
the evils of that sin, and Allah is surely forgiving
and merciful.
You have to look for righteous friends, and you
have to keep yourself busy doing that which Allaah
loves and is pleased with. Pay attention to the best
and most sublime things and leave alone the worst
and most vile things. Make the most of your youth
in obeying and worshipping Allaah, seeking
knowledge and calling others to Allaah. Remember
that there were those of your age and younger who
were men who had memorized the Qur’aan, who
sought knowledge, whom the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent to call
others to Allaah and to enter the religion of Islam.
May Allah forgive our sins and grant each of us a
good spouse in future ameen.
If there are parts which you didn't understand, feel
free to ask. Feel free also to share this message to
others jazakumullahu Khairan wa Jaza.

Reyhaneh Jabbari : Western Media Lies Vs Reality Share the Truth
Human rights activists, no matter where they are,
are extremely brave individuals! Protests often
make the democracy work properly. Nevertheless,
Western-based media pick and choose which
protests to speak about and which must be
ignored completely. And they decide so based on
the preset vested interests.
Now, we must always ponder and ask a very
significant question to ourselves and to those who
associated the newsdom that who decides whether
or not a particular issue is “newsworthy?”
Most Western media appear to follow their
government’s lead while addressing the issues that
are not ‘theirs’. The overwhelming, equivocal and
irrevocable attention that has been given by the
Western media (and to the extend some of the
Indian media too) to the opposition or to anything
and everything that stains the rigidity and mass
support to the Iranian government system has
been a common thing ever since the victory of
democratic revolution held in Iran for better leaders
and better government.
The recent judicial exercise on the case of a
murderer (who claimed to be raped) Reihaneh
Jabbari and the media hues and cries are just
another episode of the above said global media
approach towards modern Iran.
I don’t want to put that repeatedly asked and over
spoken but genuine question, ‘Why are the protests
against Iran and its government getting more
global media focus than any other (or more brutal
incidents around the world)’. I don’t want to
ponder more on it in this article (note) simply
because it will lead this article away from the
kernel of discussion. I also don’t intend to
compare the Western media reporting style of this
incident with the capital punishments they have
been given to the blacks, mental patients, minors,
women and minorities on lame justifications, and
while they literally butchered hundred of blacks in
US whereas the DNA tests later showed them
innocent.
A free and independent media is an essential part
of any democracy, and something that the West is
proving more and more that it lacks.
"THE WIDE SPREAD STORY ON THIS CASE
FOLLOWS:"
When the crime happened (seven years ago),
Reyhaneh Jabbari was a 19-year-old interior
decorator. Morteza Sarbandi, an intelligence officer,
asks her to come to design his office. He insists on
driving Reyhaneh to the supposed place for
decoration. On the way, he stops to buy a date
rape drug from the pharmacy. When they get there,
he locks the door and attacks Reyhaneh to rape
her. During the struggle, Reyhaneh strikes her
attacker with a knife that simply strikes his
shoulder, but he dies anyway. Now, she is a 26-
year old victim of (attempted) rape who has been
convicted of murder.
-- Question: Who was the victim?
Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi was a retired
intelligence officer of Iran and also was a
physician.
"VIEWS OF THE JUDGE"
Mr. Tardast, who was a judge for this case (now
he is retired explained the background of this case
including the details from the version of
investigation report), spoke the details during the
interview he gave for an Iranian news media.
The case was given enough significance as the law
of the land values the life of her people with
utmost respect. After close and profound
inspection of the case which as specified by the
law, this case was examined and handled by five
judges, who are experts. Anybody who reads the
24 page report of the case will vote for its truth. On
top of all, the reports and trail was examined by
13 Supreme Court judges and not a single one
voted against the verdict.
I have seen the articles and views and I am sorry
for Iran’s weakness in responding to centers for
spreading lies. I have personally done my best in
every case to convince victims’ families to forgive
the murderer and not demand execution. But with
the invasion of agenda-driven international
agencies on this case and spreading lies and
accusations against the victim, the victim’s family
held a grudge and won’t consent to forgiving the
murderer.
Sometimes even forsaking the protocols, I have
pleaded the victim’s family to forgive this poor girl.
In reply to that the victim’s family responded:
“First of all, this lady is not regretful at all.
Secondly, instead of the truth, they now call my
father a rapist.”
-- "BACK GROUND OF THE CASE":
She was predetermined to murder the victim; even
before she met the victim at the place where the
murder took place. It was in a way that in an SMS
to one of her boyfriends (she had more than one
boyfriends and she was engaged to one of them
too), she said she intended to murder her father.
In court she said that she was a victim of her
father’s violence when he drank. If she was
concerned of her dignity like any other woman
must be, why didn’t she complain against her
father’s ill treatment to the police until she
revealed it in the court?
The accused (Reihaneh Jabbari) has repeatedly
stated in the court that the door was not locked.
After plunging a 10-inch long blade that she
bought two days prior to the murder, she left the
scene pretty easily. The crime scene also shows
that the door is not “filled with strikes of knife.”
There is the evidence for one strike of a sharp
object. When asked “why did you strike the door?”
She said: “’cause I was excited and in a hurry.”
When asked “was the door locked?” She replied:
“No it was not”. After I plunged the knife, he threw
a chair at me, I exited using the elevator and he
used the stairs.” He died after climbing down two
stories.
She continues: “I hid in the street, and waited.
When I saw the ambulance and the Police, I took a
taxi home.”
The crime took place in a five-story building, which
means a least bit of cry or sound can easily be
audible to the neighbours. During the interrogation
and questionings, the neighbours said that they
only heard an object strike the wall which was the
chair thrown by the victim.
As a 19-year-old interior designer in 2007 (as
claimed), she could have been too inexperienced
and naïve in her professional career. So how come
the victim approached her to design his office
when many more experienced designers are
available in Iran? Doesn't this indicate the
likelihood that they met as friends and the
relationship might have been mutual at the time?
Ms. Jabbari said at least three times in the court
that “I used to give him services in return for
benefits.” Here she used the word ‘service’ as a
slang, which means sex. In addition to having a
fiancé and a boyfriend, she also had affairs with
multiple people simultaneously including the
manager where she worked, which resulted to
having disputes with her fiancé. In a SMS found
from her phone, received from her fiancé reads:
“You said goodbye to me when you started
sleeping with…, dirt. This is my last SMS to you.”
As stated and recorded in the case, she says
regarding her relation with an older man (the
murdered): “I wanted to give some controlled
services and get some benefits. I wanted to prove
that I can be independent without my family’s
help.”
While she was asked about how they met each
other, she replied at the court: “On the street, he
had a Toyota Camry. He stopped for me and I got
in. We exchanged numbers.” The text messaged
retrieved from their mobiles clearly shows that they
had an affair weeks before the murder, they went
to restaurants, were in touch regularly.
On the day of the crime, the murdered came to her
work to pick her up as planned. Her colleagues
testified that when a Toyota Camry came to pick
her up, she told them that he is her father’s friend,
and that they want to buy the car.
To get clearer picture, the Iranian Judiciary
appointed a female psychologist to the case to
closely examine and interview Reihaneh Jabbari
and her comments. The psychologist came up with
a report that the murderess suffered from an
extreme case of narcissism. Her mindset
contributed to her murder, but she had not
suffered from any form of insanity to be absolved.
The murdered (Dr. Sarbandi) travelled a lot for
trading medical equipment, he had promised her
with trips to Europe which he didn’t keep and
resulted in her anger. He also had promised to give
her the Toyota for a Thursday out-of-town picnic
with her friends at work which he didn’t do; this
also raged her a great deal. She said she was
embarrassed in front of her friends.
On the day when the murder took place Reihaneh
was very angry with him as he didn’t keep his
words and she was bothered of the insult that she
may face from her friends for not having the car on
the said day. While they were at Dr. Sarbandi’s
apartment, he asked her to take of her scarf (head
veil), and she refused to do. When the court asked
her did he do any act of coercion she replied: “He
went to say his prayers.” This later proved true
when the investigative team found blood spatter on
the Sajaddeh (a tablet made of the holy dust of
Karbala and a soft rug used for prayers by Shia
Muslims). He was performing the prayer at the
time of murder and had his back to her.
The knife went into his lungs. Forensic results
contradicted with the claims of Reihaneh’s lawyer
that says: “she just had a simple strike to the
shoulder.” The murdered had bought condoms on
the way to his apartment and that he had put on
the table right in front of her.
There were two glasses, both of which were tested.
The reports show that one of the glasses contained
Difnoxilat which is a laxative.
Reihaneh repeatedly admitted to the court that
there was a third person too at the flat; but
Reihaneh deliberately avoided giving details about
him. Who was he? What would have been the role
he had in this murder? Why did Reihaneh wanted
to hide his identity?
Western Media and its allies continue to jump on
the "Iran hangs woman for killing her rapist"
bandwagon, and they forget that they owe it to the
Iranian people, the country and its judicial system.
Millions around the world, who received the news
through international and local media are obviously
failed to get the real story, as they are served by
half-baked news with wasted interests sprinkled on
it.
The execution of Reihaneh Jabbari has been
treated it with all of its own individual merit. The
judicial system of Iran has tried its level best to
negotiate with Dr. Sarbandi’s family. The judiciary
also gave enough time for the lawyer of Reihaneh
to get the consent of the victim’s family to let off
the death penalty.
The family has formally stated for quite a while
that they are willing to forgive Rayhaneh Jabbari,
provided that she comes out with the truth. The
family has stated that they will ask for the death
penalty to be rescinded if she comes out with the
truth regarding the following:
When she committed the murder, a male
accomplice was waiting for her and entered the
room; this is why the victim followed them. The
family demands his identity.
Secondly, the family demands the real reason for
the murder as opposed to the false accusation of
rape.
Whyaren’t those who made uproar on this issue
with fabricated details and diversions turning the
entire case against Iranian government and judicial
system get these questions answered?
However, I personally respect her last decision on
donating all her organs to the needy. Verily, it is
worth praising!

have dependent upon three major things, one the
Tehran Public Prosecution's statement, two the
details of the information that Ms. Reihaneh
Jabbari presented before the court, and finally the
interview (appeared in Shaharwand newspaper,
Iran) of the then Judge who presided the case. I
have received them from the valid sources that I
firmly believe are true.

Who is a MAN?
A man is a beautiful part of God's creation who
starts compromising at a very tender age.
He sacrifices his chocolates for his sister.
He sacrifices his dreams for just a smile on his
parents face.
He spends his entire pocket money on buying gifts
for the lady he loves just to see her smiling.
He sacrifices his full youth for his wife & children
by working late at night without any complain.
He builds their future by taking loans from banks &
repaying them for lifetime.
He struggles a lot & still has to bear scolding from
his mother, wife & boss.
His life finally ends up only by compromising for
others' happiness.
If he goes out, then he's careless
If he stays at home, then he's a lazy
If he scolds children, then he's a monster
If he doesn't scold, then he's a irresponsible guy
If he stops wife from working, then he's an
insecure guy
If he doesn't stops wife from working, then he's
somebody who lives on wife's earnings.
If he listens to mom, then he's mama's boy
If he listens to wife, he's wife's slave
Respect every male in your life. U will never know
what he has sacrificed for you.
Worth sending to every man to make him smile &
every woman to make her realize his worth!!

The Beautiful & Touching love Story of Zainab bint Muhammad and Abu Al Aas ibn Rabee (may Allah be pleased with them).
Zainab was the beautiful, beloved and eldest
daughter of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace
and blessings be upon him).
Abu al-’Aas was her cousin, the nephew of her
mother Khadeeja (may Allah be pleased with her).
He was one of the nobles of the Quraish, and a
young family member whom the Prophet (peace be
upon him) loved very much.
Before the Prophet (peace be upon him) received
Prophethood, Abu Al Aas one day came to him. He
had a request and with an earnest and hopeful
voice, he said:
“I wish to marry your eldest daughter.”
The Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) graciously replied: “I must ask her first.”
So he went to sit with his dear daughter Zainab
and casually broached the subject, “Your cousin
came to see me today and he wishes to marry
you. How do you feel about this? And would you
accept him as your husband?”
So similar in nature and disposition to her father,
Zainab remained silent and her beautiful young
face turned red out of bashfulness but… she
smiled. A smile indicating her acceptance.
Zainab was married to Abu al-’Aas and so began
the tale of a great love story. Their union was
blessed with two children, Ali and Umaymah.
During the period of time when Muhammad
became a Prophet, his son in law Abu al-’Aas was
away from Makkah on business. After his business
trip, Abu al-’Aas returned to find that his beloved
wife was now a Muslim. Not long after he had
returned, Zainab, unable to contain her excitement
of being a Muslim, said to him,
“I have great news for you”.
Perhaps sensing that it would be something
difficult to deal with, Abu al-’Aas stood up and
walked away from her. Zainab was surprised but
she followed him as she said,
“My father became a Prophet and I have become a
Muslim.”
His reply was one of incomprehension and
incredulity, “Why didn’t you tell me first?”
For the first time in their marriage, there ensued a
big problem and difference between the two; a
problem of religion and belief.
She told him firmly, “I wasn’t going to disbelieve in
my father and his message. You know he is not a
liar, he is “As Sideeq and Al Ameen/The Honest
and Trustworthy”.” Trying to convince him that her
decison had being the right one, she continued,
“I’m not the only believer. My mother and my
sisters became Muslims too. My cousin Ali ibn Abi
Talib became a Muslim, your cousin Uthman ibn
Affan became a Muslim, and your friend, Abu Bakr,
has also become a Muslim.”
Overwhelmed by all that she was saying, he
replied, “Well, as for me, I don’t want people to
say, ‘he let his people and his forefathers down,
just to please his wife’.
But because he loved his wife Zainab, as well as
his father in law, Muhammad (peace be upon him),
he continued softly, “And I am not accusing your
father of anything. So will you excuse me and
understand?”
Zainab could only respond as her heart dictated
her too, “Who will excuse and understand you if I
don’t? I will stay beside you and help you until you
reach the truth.”
And she kept her word for 20 years.
Abu al-’Aas remained an unbeliever, and then
came the mandatory migration from Makkah to
Madinah. Zainab unsure of what she needed to do,
went to her father and sought his permission to
stay behind and remain with her husband. The
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),
understanding the plight of his daughter
responded,
” Yes, you may remain with your husband and
children”.
So Zainab continued to live in Makkah, as a
Muslim, with her non Muslim husband until the
time drew nearer for the battle of Badr. Abu al-’Aas
was to fight in the army of the Quraish against the
Muslims. For Zainab, it meant that her husband
would be fighting against her father. Undoubtedly a
time Zainab had always feared. In prayer she kept
crying out:
“O Allah, I fear that day the sun will rise and my
children will become orphans or the day I will lose
my father and become an orphan”.
The battle of Badr began and ended in victory for
the Muslims. Abu Al-Aas was one of those
captured by the Muslims, and news of this reached
Makkah. Zainab hesitantly asked,
“How is my father? What has happened to him?”
She was told, ” He is unharmed and the Muslims
won”.
Thenshe asked again hesitantly: “How is my
husband? What has happened to him?”
To this she was told: “He was captured.” So she
prayed to Allah expressing deep gratitude to Him
for protecting them both and answering her prayers
and said, “I’ll send something in payment to
release him.”
She didn’t own anything of much value, except the
necklace that had once belonged to her mother
Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her). So she
took it off and sent it with Abu al-’Aas brother to
purchase the freedom of her husband.
While the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sitting,
taking payments and releasing captives, his eyes
fell on his beloved late wife’s necklace. He held it
up and asked:
“Whose payment is this?”
It was said: “ Abu al-’Aas ibn Rabee.”
At this the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) cried out, his voice heavy with emotion “This
is Khadeeja’s necklace.”
As soon as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon
him) saw the necklace, he was engulfed in a
moment of extreme sadness and his heart filled
with overwhelming emotion at the memories which
flooded his mind and the moment. The
Companions who were present there gazed in
amazement having being captivated by the
magnitude of such an emotional situation.
After what seemed to be a long silence, the
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up
and said,
“O my people, this man is my son in-law. Should I
release him? And would you accept the return of
this necklace to my daughter?”
Being a part of the intense moment, they all
answered in unison “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) then gave the
necklace to Abu al-’Aas and said to him,
“Tell Zainab not to give away Khadeeja’s
necklace.”
Thereafter he (peace be upon him) quietly added,
“Abu al-’Aas, Can we speak privately?”
He took him aside and softly spoke, “Allah has
ordered me to separate a Muslim and a disbeliever,
so could you please return my daughter to me?”
Abu al-’Aas still having great respect for his father
in law-Muhammad (peace be upon him),
reluctantly agreed.
In the meanwhile Zainab stood at the gates of the
outskirts Makkah waiting for the arrival of her
beloved husband Abu al-’Aas When he finally came
he simply said,
“I am going away”.
Shocked she asked him, “Where to?”
He replied, ” Rather it is not me who is leaving, it
is you. You are to return to your father. It is as he
has requested. We must separate because you are
a Muslim.”
Anguish, hurt and pain at the thought of being
separated from her dear husband, she implored
him, “Won’t you become a Muslim and come with
me?” But tragically he refused.
So Zainab took her son and daughter and travelled
to Madinah. For 6 years she refused to remarry,
hoping that one day Abu al-’Aas would come.
After these 6 years had passed, Abu A-’Aas was
travelling in a caravan from Makkah to Syria.
During the journey, he was intercepted by some of
the Prophet’s companions. He managed to escape
and asked for Zainab’s home. He knocked on her
door shortly before the dawn prayer. She opened
the door and happily exclaimed,
“Have you become a Muslim?”
He shook his head and whispered “No, I have come
as a fugitive.”
She implored him once more “Won’t you become a
Muslim?”
As it had been before, so was it again. He
answered in the negative.
No matter the time and heartbreak, he remained to
be her kin, father of her children and still beloved
to her heart. She said,”Do not worry. Welcome my
cousin, welcome, the father of Ali and Umaymah.”
After the Prophet (peace be upon him) had prayed
the dawn prayer in congregation with the people, a
voice was heard a voice from the back of the
mosque,
“I have freed Abu al-’Aas ibn Rabee.”
It was the right and priviledge of those to free kith
and kin, if they so wished. And so Zainab had
granted Abu al-’Aas freedom.
The Prophet (peace be upon him), addressing the
congregation asked, “Have you heard what I have
heard?”
They all replied in unison, “Yes, we have Oh
Messenger of Allah.”
Zainab then continued, “He is my cousin and the
father of my children and I have freed him.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) stood up and
said, “O people, I declare that this man was a very
good son-in-law, he never broke his promise, and
neither did he tell lies. So if you accept, I will
return his money back to him and let him go. If
you refuse, it’s your decision and I will not blame
you for it.”
The companions themselves, as kind hearted as
their Prophet, agreed, “We will give him his money
and grant him his freedom.”
So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said looked
towards his daughter Zainab and said, “We have
freed the one you have freed, O Zainab.”
Then he (peace be upon him) walked to where she
stood and quietly said to her, “Be generous to him,
he is your cousin and the father of your children,
but don’t let him get near you as a husband. For
he is a disbeliever and that is prohibited for you.”
She replied, “Yes, Oh my father, I will certainly do
as you say.”
She returned to her home, where her husband, still
thinking that he is a fugitive, was waiting. She
addressed him searchingly and said, “O Abu
al-’Aas, didn’t you miss us at all? Won’t you
become a Muslim and stay with us?”
But he sadly once again he refused. Abu al-’Aas
then thanked her for her help, took his money and
returned to Makkah.
Upon returning to Makkah, he addressed the people
and announced,
“O people, here is your money. Is there anything
left? Anything else that I was supposed to return
to you?”
They replied, “No, Abu al-’Aas, there is nothing
left.” And thanked him for his assistance in
carrying out their trade journey to Syria.
Abu al-’Aas’ honour had been satisfied that he
owed no one and he loudly proclaimed, “I testify
that there is no god but Allah, and that
Muhammed is His Messenger.” After all these
years as well as separation from his beloved wife,
he had finally brought Imaan/ Faith and accepted
Islam.
In excitement and anticipation, he hurriedly
returned to Madinah and ran to meet the Prophet
(peace be upon him). Breathless from the
excitement of his reversion and journey, he reached
the Prophet and said, “Dear Prophet of ALLAH, you
freed me yesterday, and today I say to that I have
testified that there is no god but Allah and you are
His Messenger.”
Without skipping a beat he continued and asked
the Prophet (peace be upon him), “Will you give me
permission to go back to Zainab? For me to be her
husband once again?”
The Prophet (peace be upon him), with tears in his
eyes smiled and responded, “Come with me.”
Together, father and son in law made their way to
Zainab’s house and knocked on her door.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
called out to his daughter saying, “O Zainab, your
cousin has accepted Islam and he came to me and
asked if he can return to you as your husband”.
Just like twenty years before, her face turned red
out of bashfulness and modesty and she simply
smiled.
But their happiness together was not meant to
last. Tragically it was but a year after this incident
that Zainab passed away.
Abu al-’Aas was overtaken by grief and shed hot
tears because of her death. His excessive grief
drove those who were around him to tears. The
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) himself
was overcome with grief, his eyes full of tears and
his heart full of sorrow. Zainab’s death reminded
him of the death of his beloved wife, Khadeejah. He
then advised the women, who had gathered around
Zainab’s lifeless body,
“Wash her three times and use camphor in the
third wash.”
Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed his
daughters funeral prayers and placed her in her
final resting place.
Abu al-’Aas returned to his children, Ali and
Umaymah. Kissing them and wetting them with his
tears, he could not help but remember the face of
his departed.
It was shared that Abu al-’Aas would cry so
profusely that the people would see his tears affect
the Prophet himself. Whereby he too would weep
profusely while he attempted to calm his son in
law down.
Abu al ‘Aas would say,
“By Allah, I can’t stand life anymore without my
Zainab.
He died a year later, just one year after Zainab's
death.
Let Allah's love lead the way. It's only in the
Blessings and Obedience of ALLAH, will peace find
its way to the hearts.
Please share.

The Day of Aashura
The 10th of Muharram also known as the day of Aashura, is one of the most auspicious days in the Islamic Calendar.
Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alaihi Wasalam) greatly emphasised the importance of fasting on this day. The Hadith states,
“The fast of Aashura wipes out the sins of a year.” (Muslim)
Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alaihi Wasalam) further advised the Ummah to keep an additional fast a day before or after the 10th. The reason was that the Jews also fasted on the 10th. It was necessary that Muslims be distinct and apart from the practices of non-Muslims.
This leaves a powerful lesson for his Ummah. Muslims will, at any given time or place, be distinct and different from the practices, norms and culture of non-Muslims.
